A writer of poetry and drama

I’m a writer of poetry and drama. I also dabble in digital art and comic strip poetry. In 2024 I was highly commended in the Patrick Kavanagh Awards.
I like to think poetry can find its way into any medium. I enjoy working with drama and poetry. In 2024 I graduated with an MA in Creative Practice, and a First Class Honours Degree from The Yeats Academy of ATU Sligo. My work Nádur an epic poem that can be performed, received an award for innovation. I enjoy zoopoetics. Nature has a voice we just have to listen for it.
I am currently compiling my first full collection of poetry. I received a Literature Bursary from The Arts Council of Ireland in July 2025. I have two chapbooks published. The Word According to Crow was the winner of the 2022 Roscommon Chapbook Award. The Songs I Sing are Sisters was a collaborative work with the Scottish writer Cáit O’Neill McCullagh published by Dreich.
I am widely published in print, online and radio. I have been recently published in Southword 48, in Live Encounters Poetry and Writing, in The Stinging Fly and soon to be published in Channel Magazine and The Poetry Bus.
I have also been a radio producer/ writer. Together with my late husband Jho Harris we founded All Points West Radio Productions in 1998. We produced 16 radio dramas for RTEjr Radio between 2008-2020. We also presented and produced an arts programme from 1999 to 2009 for local radio. Jho set-up and ran a successful podcasting site that championed writers of poetry, prose and music.
